GTM Strategy Validation

You think your positioning is landing.

Have you actually asked the market?

Most GTM strategies are validated internally: leadership agrees, sales nods along, the deck looks right. Almost none are tested against the people who are supposed to be hearing it, your actual customers and the prospects who didn't buy.

GTM Crucible Assay is independent research, conducted directly with your customers and prospects, to find out whether your current go-to-market strategy holds up in the real world or just in the boardroom.

The problem

Every company has a working theory of its go-to-market. Few have tested it against outside evidence.

  • You're not sure if the deals you're losing are a positioning problem, a pricing problem, or a fit problem.

  • Internal opinions about "what's not working" don't agree, and nobody has the data to settle it.

  • You're about to invest in a rebrand, a rewrite, or a new campaign, and you'd rather know first if the current strategy is actually broken.

The offer

We interview a defined set of your customers and prospects (active accounts, recent wins, recent losses, and deals that went dark) to test your current positioning, messaging, and ICP against what they actually say. You get a findings report:

  • What's confirmed. Which parts of your current story hold up under outside scrutiny.

  • What's not. Where the market's language, priorities, or objections diverge from what you're saying.

  • Where you're actually losing ground, and to what: price, a competitor, a feature gap, or a story that isn't landing.

  • A recommendation on whether your strategy needs a rebuild (Forge or full Consulting) or just a messaging adjustment.

How it works

  1. Apply or reach out. Tell us which offering you want tested and why.

  2. Send your intake materials. Current positioning, a list of customers and prospects we can approach, and your specific hypotheses or concerns.

  3. We conduct the research. Structured interviews with your customers and prospects, run independently so responses stay candid.

  4. You get a findings report. What's validated, what's not, and what we'd recommend next.

Who this is for

  • Companies about to invest real budget in a repositioning and want evidence first

  • Teams with an internal disagreement about whether the problem is the strategy or the execution

  • Leadership that wants a second opinion grounded in actual customer conversations, not another internal workshop

Strategy validation engagements are scoped individually. Typical time from engagement to final deliverable is 3 to 6 weeks. Please get in touch if you are interested in working together.
